Thanks House. I can't believe all the great people on here. Sorry that your Mom never met your kids, I know how that feels. My Dad and my wife's Dad both died at the age of 47 of the same thing. They both were never sick, they both went to work and both of them just had massive heart attacks and died instantly while just talking to someone. Oddly enough, though they died 10 years apart, they are burried exactly facing each other in a huge cemetary, I mean, exactly facing each other.
When I started dating my wife about 40 years ago, we went to our Father's graves and were astinished that they were burried like that.
Another wierd thing is that my Dad had a fish market on 80th street in Jackson Heights in Queens and my wife's Dad had a butcher shop on 82nd street just two blocks away. We don't know if they knew each other.
I was 10 when my Dad died and my wife was 13 when her Dad died.
My Mother made up for it and almost lived to 100

Dom, most of us have to deal with it at some time. It is a natural progression of time. The funeral seemed like a relief to me as she was in a nursing home on the verge of living for the last four years. No more traveling every week to see her in that pittiful state not knowing anyone or anything, not being able to speak or for the last few months even opening her eyes.
The funeral is now over and she is at peace, I just took the family out to eat in a nice restaurant, she would have loved it.
