I wonder how they taste. Maybe they need to bring in the chefs and do some demonstrations, aka lionfish. The sad part is that the State moves so slowly on these things that the population will get even more out of control long before they figure out how to deal with it.

Whoa..! I'd try some if it weren't so damned expensive. Where did you find that? Did you notice they say that python meat is better that rattlesnake meat? If this is the case, maybe we could convince some of those Texans to stop the rattlesnake round-up and hit Florida to do a python round-up. Hmm.

The thoughts of not allowing some animals for trade becomes so much stronger when you visit stores. In the past month I have been to a store that has a 2'-2'6" nurse shark that ordered the shark for a customer that couldn't keep it long term. So now it sits in a 75 gallon shop tank. Then the new shop that opened nearby brings in cat sharks and eggs(not on order), has sturgeon and other impossible to maintain freshwater fish. Not to mention bringing in a bunch of small animals that are improperly cared for(mandarin/seahorses). One thing I do not miss about working in a store was telling someone they should not buy an animal and having them get another employee to bag it for them. I love sharks and other large species of fish, but unless I get a bigger house and a few much larger tanks, I will continue to see them at aquariums and on dive trips.

I had to do that a lot when I worked in shops. The very first one I worked at, though, what you describe would never have happened. In fact, if a customer tried that, then the other employee would have called or fetched me to tattle on the customer. :lol: (That was why I had people asking for me more than ten years after I left the shop, too, I could practically guarantee their success.)
