Just curious who here uses gopros and for what type of hobbies. I currently have a few strapped at different angles to one of my cars and I've used it in the past for scuba, jet ski and flying. I have hero3 silver editions.

Not necessarily, the footage (if you set it to 1080 p) comes out amazing. Also depends on what you mount it to and for what

The sound is also surprisingly good quality

i have the hero 2 and use it for motorcycle rides, the 3 has had issues why i never upgrade, those that have it watch when doing the update, and video quality is phenominal

I use the go pros at work. We use them for motion capture stuff all the time.

Snowboarding. But, I also got the Contour+2 camera which is easier to control while on the mountain due to the large sliding on n off bar..unlike go pros tiny on button

How long does it actually last? Says it can record up to 8 hours but I'd figure the battery woudl be dead by then.

Can you charge this while using it as a dash cam or something?

I guess it depends on the SD card you are using with the gopro.

GoPro Hero 3 Black, haven't really used it for fish stuff yet but I took it out to a drag race day at a private runway and it's awesome. I was shooting at 2700k pics and video with (I think) the latest update and quality was phenomenal. I use the iphone app for it since the remote is just annoying and pointless. There is a delay with the app so video is a second or two behind but its really easy to control after you play with it.
