My fish have ich and i will be setting up a qt tank its a 20long with a hob filter and t5 lighting no sand or live rock...how do i go about adding copper to kill this ich
The copper medication should come with instructions. Follow the instruction carefully. You do not want to over dose copper.
Make sure to get the appropriate copper test kit for the copper medication you purchase. You will need to test the amount of copper in the tank in order to keep it within range. To much you'll kill the fish, not enough, and you won't kill the ich.
Also remember to keep your tank free of fish for up to 10 weeks so that the ich cannot find a host.
Look into CopperPower. It can be used at a higher does than say Cupremine. But as Awi said, too little and will do nothing, and too much will kill fish. Make sure that you have a good copper test kit.
You can get both the copper and test kit from SeaChem, but that is not CopperPower.
The problem with CopperPower is that since you run at a high dose most kits cannot test that level.
