How do you deal with daily evaporation?

2 gallon bucket with johnny guest valve drips in. I go through more topoff in the winter than in the summer.

I replace the water by hand. I always get more evaporation in the summer because there are more fans blowing on the water to keep it cool. (No chiller here.) The problem with this method is you can never leave for more than 24 hrs because then the return chamber of my sump starts running dry!

This medical doser system - does it work basically the same way as the drip-method we use for acclimating livestock?? Is that an uber-cheap alternative for some water replacement?? How many drips a second?
