How long till tank breaks in?

Just wondering how long you guys think till a tank is broken in and nuisance alg shouldn't be a persistent problem ?? The reason I ask is because I do all the recommend things to keep my po4 low but hair alage is always there not a infestation but bad enough weird thing is that the corals look great !
I also vodka dose ! The tank has been set up since last July so about 10 months ! Starting to think my rock or sand is leaching po4 into system or that my bio load is just way too much! I have a hippo tang midas blenny 2 clown fish 3 blue eyed cardinals a chalk bass and a watchmen goby it's a 75 gal

Hey Matt what test kits u use your po4 might not be as low as u think . how long u been vodka dosing and how much ?

what kind of skimmer are you using

H2o I dose .3 ml a day of vodkaI have gone more but I notice cyano build up anything over .4

I use a precision marine bullet one with a mag 12
It collects pretty nice skimate but the real crud usually builds up in the tube needs weekly cleaning it's my first and only skimmer for this tank I'd like to try another either swc or bubble Magnus my b day is in July !

how are you measuring your po4.

I used test kits got consistent 0 so I went to a Hanna checked but still got 0 so I traded it away for interceptor which I needed at the time
I'd love to get a real reading from the real deal Hanna po4 meter

+1 i have a lifereef sump and skimmer also.. i think i wouldnt trad it for no other 1.

How long to ur systems really settled in?? I'm also convinced that I'm kinda up the creek because my sump is only 15 gal what I think I reAlly need is 40 more gal of water not an option right now with 1 bedroom

My tank began to settle down somewhere between month 10 - 12. I still have a stubborn patch of hair algae but that's slowly dying.
