It's fine, but the crystals will irritate some corals as well as the abrupt drop in PO4. Just use the recommended dose and you should be fine. This will only remove the PO4 in solution, it isn't going to remove the source. Depending on how bad your levels are and how much you dose you could end up causing some extreme fluctuations.

@lfsmarineguy I guess I should have given a bit of a backstory as to why i'm using it. I setup the tank in July. I took it off a friend with her rock. Started with new everything else but she had an existing GHA problem. I've tried everything to get rid of it. I've been wanting to get new rock anyway so i'm cooking 30 pounds at the moment and I want to dose the LC to try and prevent the same problems. Once the rock is ready i'm going with a new skimmer for the first chamber in my BioCube and the CPR Media Reactor that will fit in the second chamber to tumble GFO. I'm currently in the process of giving the plugs and discs that my frags are on a dip in fresh RO/DI water and then scrubbing them with a toothbrush to eliminate any GHA that may be growing on them so I don't transfer the problem to the new rock

To add to that. I've had the rock in since Sunday night and I tested the phosphates this morning and they were already at .25 (API Test Kit). I know the API Kit's aren't all the reliable but I have to wait until I get my next paycheck and then i'll be picking up the set of Hanna meters that Marine Depot sells

No ill effects.
I did a 10 to 1 freshwater to acid dip for ten minutes. Timed.
The rock was dry pukani and the dark grey foam that bubbled out was evil.
There was a lot of activity in the mixture so I did this by the gutter.
After ten minutes I dumped the water and hosed it down.
Then rinsed let it sit and rinsed. Did this daily for a week then into the tank.
I have a BTA that was completely unaffected so I was much relieved.
