Live Rock Question

I have never used or worked with live rock in my aquarium before and have a question. I am thinking of building my own aquascape using the pvc and egg crate method. Since this would require having the live rock out of the water for some extended period of time, while I hammer, chiesal, drill and build my structure, wouldn't the live rock become dead rock?

You could put it in a smaller tank with a small pump. Or if you don't have one, stick it in a bucket.

Thanks for the quick response. So As I build it, I should be constantly taking it in and out of some other salt water holding tank. I assume that I must maintain normal temp and salinity while I do this?

Well depends on how you get your live rock. If you get it uncured build your aquascape then cure it. if you buy it from a fellow reefer that has it fully cured I would keep it submerged as much as possible to keep die off to a min.
