main pump

just wanted to know what every one is using as there main pump and why. reason i ask is because I'm using a quiet one pump and i lookin for something more reliable

doesn't a mag drive produce a lot of heat .

I run a mag 7 on my 45g cube and never had an issue with heat.

u will not regret getting a mag pump

mag 9.5 it run my return true my chiller and its install externally so no heat issue and all the pumps make some sort noise but there are way to handle that

I wouldn't use a Mag Drive. I'm not saying they're bad pumps, but there are much better options out there.

Take a look at the Eheim line. They're not cheap, but I've heard stories of them lasting 15+ years (not exaggerating)..

I'm currently using a Marineland Utility Pump on my tank and it's great. They're cheaper than the Eheims, but they're pretty efficient, quiet, and haven't caused any problems yet. They have a great reputation in terms of reliability, but I can't personally contribute because mine has only been used since January/Feb
