All I am suggesting is to support the people who support the site that we all benefit from. Vendors and sponsors donate money to the site for advertising and to have a forum (for vendors) We benefit from that cause we use the site. That's all.

Does MR have a business development plan or program in place to sell advertising to vendors that do not currently support the site? My guess is no based on the number of sponsors we have.

It seems that MR get's free leads when people post group buys on the site or talk about a new vendor they have used.

If there is no plan or program, maybe that is something I can help with as this is my profession and I have been doing it for 10 years. There is a ton of simple and cost efficient ways to solicit customers or advertising.

I do give vendors and sponsors first shot and will continue to do so, however if they do not get back to you, what do I do?

Here is a example: My post #9
http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum...g-requests-suggestions-next-week-s-order.html

And on the other hand, I have dealt with vendors that have gone out of there way for me such as HOF and Aquatic Express and I will continue to support and buy from them...
Hi Ray,
my apologies, I must have missed that post. i do my best to check the site at least 3 times a day. Usually I reply to a thread and say PM's sent and if I've missed anyone..please PM me.
Sorry for any inconvenience. Not my intent to ignore anyone. sorry for the bad experience.

Regards,
Steve

You know, Chief, I understand where you are coming from and for the most part I agree with you. Now while this may not necessarily apply to vendors as much as to sponsors, but how about sponsors offering a MR discount? ( Ignore if this is already done ) I notice that on many other forums with large, active memberships, such as RC, many of the sponsors will offer member discounts, either always or from time to time. That would definately help generate more business from MR members and is a better incentive for people to support vendors. For the vendors, I realize that most of them already offer great prices ( at least on livestock ) to the members.

Wonderful news. I actually did peruse the sponsors since I'm setting up a new tank and wanted to give preference to vendors/sponsors but I didnt notice the 10% and for dry goods that I needed, there was noone local to me that had what I need for similar prices, and once shipping was factored in...
