mantis can hit with the same force as a .22 cal which could easily mangle what was once part of your hand. It is still an animal and could very well strike your hand one day making you regret the thought of ever hand feeding him....or her. I know a woman who had one of those tiny shitzus(sp) and after 15 years of kisses from it the dog decided no more and ripped most of her upper lip apart, just goes to show you can never expect animal behavior.

Hey you sleep with dogs you wake up with fleas... You kiss a dog you just might get your lip ripped off...You hand feed a mantis shrimp....Oh wait a minute.... No more handfeeding for me....
