I’m brand new to the reef hobby and just started cycling my first 20-gallon nano tank a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been reading a ton of forum threads, watching YouTube videos, and following some popular reefers online, but honestly… I’m kind of overwhelmed.
There’s so much info out there on lighting, flow, parameters, corals, dosing, pests, etc., and I feel like every source has a slightly different opinion. Even stuff like when to do water changes or how long to wait before adding my first coral seems to vary a lot.
Is this just part of the learning curve? How did you all handle the information overload when you first started? Did you follow one source of info or just kind of learn by doing (and maybe making a few mistakes)?
Appreciate any tips or just hearing how others handled their early days in the hobby!
Thanks,
