Well Kat,Orphek has their own research facility and the lens are made in Israel.They also make their own diodes and the spectrum is aimed at corals and not the glass.

Dude anymore news/reviews on your light. Where can i get one? Does it really replace a Metal halide?

I believe Aquarium Specialty has them.Yes,it does replace MH lighting.When it came to just the name,I didn't really need reviews. They make them right

Im less concerned about corals when it comes to lighting as i will probably only keep hard to kill corals ;0). Im more concerned about the super intense bright look. Ive never had Halides but i love the look of my friends tanks with halides. Im hoping these would do the same only with less electricity used and little to no bulb replacement!

It's in the RC channel too! Me, as an addicted reef-soap-opera couch potatoe, was enjoying the show. If they ask me to rate, I will give the episode a 5 stars and 2 thumbs up-there is entertainment, there are actions and all. The dialog is great.:bunny:

They are a bit arrogant but it still doesn't mean I won't use their products and they did not specify which model only that it was a blade.If your corals are not accustomed to this high lighting,they'll bleach no matter what brand you use.I'm thrilled with mine and almost all makes use China to make their stuff in one way or another.Competition brings the beast out of some people.I'm disappointed that he would slam Ecotech.

Mike Maddox didn't have anything to do with orphek other than being a reseller of the products. He was misrepresenting himself, that's part of what the whole thing is about. Orphek has actually been very professional about the whole thing and it was handled rather quickly. Whether they are made in China or not is really meaningless, you don't see people boycotting Apple products because they are made there or looking at them as somehow inferior because of it. Orphek actually put out some impressive numbers from what was done with Sanjay's testing compared to the competition. "Orphek sucks" might as well be written on the wall of a high school bathroom stall the way it's become the cool thing to say on some blogs...

Also bought he ML-7 bulb and it's awesome.I have it opposite my daylights and even when I put them on during the day,they still make the tank pop anyways.
