Yes they are maroon clowns. I'm not sure if they are mated pair. but they were hanging out together. I hope so. That would be nice.

I paid $17 bucks each. is that a good price.

The fact that they where hanging out together is a god sign, they are notorious for being unwelcoming to outsiders.

It is possible that the small maroon is also a gold stripe, as their stripes don't color up until they have matured some.

I think you did alright. Pretty good price and like Matt said they can be EXPENSIVE when they are a mated pair.
