Like fisherman said use both primer and glue hold fittings in place 10 seconds and use unions , check valve( return line ball check kind ) , valve( adjust flow in tank) that way you can put together once dry. ... Give day to cure next day put in tank if you want to be safe. Good luck..

One more trick , mark your fittings with a black marker that way you will know where they line up elbows forty fives with straight piece.

Any other questions give a shout out... I know a guy that don't glue the pipes that's nuts. But tank in garage so not big issue if flood.

I do not glue the connections inside my sump......

And if you do decide to glue them just let it dry for a few minutes and that is it, but if you plan to glue it you need to be able to get in there and dry it off or not worth trying to glue.

I also disagree with the use of a check valve, they are a recipe for disaster IMO. Make sure that your sump is big enough to hold the overflow.
