RBTA in my overflow

My RBTA had split a few months ago. I lost track of where the second piece went until today, when I found it my overflow. It's a very small piece, maybe 2". Any ideas on how to take it out?

you can't move it since it will stick itself to the wall and its hard to get them off. unless your overflow is large enough that your hand will fit in there then scrape off their footing slowly and safely until they come off then you can just pick it up while they're not sticking themself again. it will take a lot of time so be patient.

Should I use anything to scrape it off? Like a plastic scraper?

Do not use a plastic scraper it may tear its leg. I have used with great success an icecube. Place the icecube on its leg and it will start to detach itself and try to move. You may need a few Icecubes for the job they melt fast....:splitspin

i used a plastic feeder stick with great success...but you have to be PATIENT and CAUTIOUS...or since the space is small use a net and cover it with net and move up and down nudging at it until it comes off....

WooHoo!!! I got it out! I used an old hotel room key slowly nudging it.

It only took me a few months of trying different things.

And of course as I'm pulling out a small rock out of the fuge for it, I find another rbta in the sump.

Yeah, the possible trade motivated me to try getting it out of the overflow again. We were going to trade one of the ones in the display, but I wanted to keep two of them on display. There's still one in part of the sump that my hands can't reach. Hopefully it'll move up a little.
