breaking down is silly, i had an outbreak in my 55 and kicked it.....lower your nitrates and phosplates through use of water changes and a reactor if you have one.....add some emerald crabs and feed very lightly so they will get hungry and go after the bubble algae.....also during water changes scrape the bubbles off the rock right in front of your siphon.....its a good amount of work but its not too hard of a thing to be done....i kicked my outbreak in about 2 months

It's not silly. How much of your rock can you see from the front and sides? 50%-70%?

The bubbles just grow where you cant see them or access them. Then they spread. I tried to lower X Y Z whatever, doesnt work if you cant manually remove them. And in a populated tank, thats pretty difficult.

its been done before...i think its just as dificult to get new rock go under a new cycle and get your bioload back up to what it was at.....i would atleast try and beat it before giving up especially because id have a hard time just giving up on something i worked very hard to do
