If you can get the rocks out that have them on them, put them in some more water and try to just pop them off like fishman said. But try to break them off WHOLE, and not break them. If you break them the spores inside can spread...

My solution to this bubble algae, went out and brought a yellow tang. It literally taken out all my bubble algae green and red ones. Now I haven't seen any of the bubble algae over 2years now. My yellow tang is always on the hunt for it, so now I just give it dry seaweed sheets.

Use a plastic brush ( 99 cents store ) and clean the spot, increase water circulation , r you dosing Vodka or sugar , if yes, reduce the amount also reduce feeding, check PH, Nitrate, PO4.

You want to remove it without popping it. Some may have been lucky enough to pop it and not have it spread but you don't want them to pop and have the spores inside to spread throughout the tank.

When you do a water change have someone or you hold your syphon tube right where they are and release them from the rock. This way hopefully even if they do pop the siphons will suck the spores out and into the bucket to be discarded.

Ups, my fault, you need to pull the rocks out and pick it off or brush, then rinse the rock before returning it to the tank. Best time when u do water change, save some water to flush. Tank You Jim.

Had the same problem with my 65. Wound up taking down my tank because of it. I started with 3 emerald crabs, they helped but it kept spreading, went to 6 emerald crabs, still nothing. My recommendation if you still can is IMMEDIATELY take out whatever rocks you can and take the algae off by taking the WHOLE bubble off. Have some water close by and rinse the rock through the water thoroughly to get any spores that may have popped. After you have done that, get a foxface/rabbitfish. I heard from numerous people that they are the best at removing the red bubble. Another fish that I heard is good is a Naso Tang. Good luck and keep us posted.

I had green bubble in my 90. That was game over. I sold all the rocks and rebooted the tank with brand new base rocks.

Unless you catch it in the very beginning, its over. Can you toss chemicals at it and fish? Sure, but results will wildly vary. That's why have these people are telling you to buy the solution of the month crab/fish and half are telling you to break it down. There is no one fix except a total break down and restart.

Test your water for nitrate...red bubble algae usually grows from higher nitrate and phosphates..do more water changes and manually remove the algae while siphoning them out...you will slowly get rid of them..old lights can cause blooms too i believe

breaking down is silly, i had an outbreak in my 55 and kicked it.....lower your nitrates and phosplates through use of water changes and a reactor if you have one.....add some emerald crabs and feed very lightly so they will get hungry and go after the bubble algae.....also during water changes scrape the bubbles off the rock right in front of your siphon.....its a good amount of work but its not too hard of a thing to be done....i kicked my outbreak in about 2 months
