Hey guys, some of you might know a little about my tank, but basically i started with the wrong equipment and not much information. Well i used to have a lot of problems with red slime algae, i had it in every single rock. I removed the live sand and crushed coral, and then i started to have a mini-cycle (diatoms) all over the place. Now, the red slime is gone, but i have green slime? This thing is all over the place, on my powerheads, filter, glass, sand, rocks, and i'm not sure why. I did some research around, but i couldn't find too much information about it. I will get a phosban reactor soon, but i thought that would help get rid of the red slime, not sure on the green slime.
This were my readings a couple days ago:
- Alkalinity: 14
- Nitrate: 0
- PH: 8.0
- Salinity: 1.024
- Temperature: 77.5
- Nitrite: 0.0
- Ammonia: 0.0
My Red Sea test kit has the phosphates above 1.0
It also seems that the rocks are starting to turn white in certain spots, why?
If it helps, this is my tank currently.
2 ocellaris clownfish, blue streak cardinal, lawnmower blenny, frogspawn, mushroom, zoas, 45lb live rock, 20lb live sand, 10 hermit crabs, 7 turbo snails, aquac remora skimmer, hob filter running poly filter and chemi-pure, 3 powerheads, T5 fixture with 2 actinics and 2 - 10000k bulbs
