reef octopus made my day

i think i just became a reef octopus customer for life they really made my day so i started filling my 150 againg this weekend and i my skimmer was acting up not cool i sent a few email and they all got answer both from here and from austrialia that customer services imo then today i got a hold of sale for there skimmer dept to talk about the issue i was looking for a replacement impeller or something and they gave me a whole bubble blaster pump now thats what i am talking about am super happy right now

would you give me some contact info. and what happened to your skimmer?

i have a sro xp-3000 external with a bubble blaster hy-3000s pump.

i shut off the skimmer to clean a couple of days ago and the bubble blaster pump would not start up. you can hear it trying to but didn't. i started to drain the skimmer body to take the pump out to check but when the water came down the body of the skimmer, the pump started up again. i didn't shut the pump off again since it was late at night and didn't feel like fussing around with it. i think it might be the impeller.

mine was working fine and the the pump started to act up it will go then get stuck then go u know the usaully bs so i took it aprt to clean the impeller while doing that i lost one of the screws that hold the cover plate and the skimmer work worse after i clean so i send the few email and russ@ saltwater critters also gave me a good contact email address so today i call them up and there customer services was really nice ill pm u there info hope they take care of u like they did for me

i didnt need the reciept my serial num on the pump work for me those pump are under a 3 year warranty so if ur skimmer i less than that u should be good

that's what i thought to some people get lucky when they don't have it i had to pay for my first pump replacement because i lost the purchase receipt from the skimmer & i only had the skimmer for about 5 months when it first came out

thats crazy 5 months i would have went true the phone and kill some body if my skimmer is only months old and i say that the pump is under a 3 year warranty no way i would buy replacement pump

i am on my third pump now in less then 2 years great skimmers but they have to resolve the issues with the pumps every body that i know who owns a super reef longer then a year already had there pumps replaced

ohh really i guess thats y they didnt mind giving a new pump reef octopus is still my favorite skimmer so far

good luck with yours i keep mine as back up now i went old school & use a euro reef as my main skimmer now

Do you guys think the reef octopus with the bubble blaster 3000 pump is to much for a 90g with a 30g sump?

It all depends on how heavily stocked the tank is but it seems a little big.

nah u should be good dennis the more u skim the better ur tank imo

Thanks dubs, I realy planing on moding my nac7, and it would be interesting to view one in action before i make my mod or purchase the pump...

am sure someone near u have one running and can give u feed back mine is only the 1000 but when i have mine up and running if u want troop it to the bx u can def swing true and check it out
