Hay guys!

I'm looking for a bulb for my refugium. Was wondering what bulb you guys uses. If you have a link or bulb information that you can share that would be great. what kind of spec do you need for a refugium bulb? I'm looking for a bulb that can grow macro algea really fast fast fast.

I was thinking of getting this one from homedepot. What do you think? http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs...alogId=10053&R=202668655&catEntryId=202668655

That was the bulb i was looking for, wish i had seen your post early before i order from ebay. I might need a 2nd bulb to cover my other half of the refugium, might get this one to try and see which one works out better.

Although I haven't used any of those bulbs I think that either one would be fine depending on how deep the fuge is. I find that a bulb with a K rating of between 5 - 6.5 work the best for growing macro....

Thanks Mike! I end up the led bulb below from ebay. Only 12W at 6K color temperature and 1200 LM. Will report back how the macro algea grow. The light looks very nice and bright and crisp. Cost for the led bulb was $20 so, not too bad.

Luis,

My refugium water level is only at 8 inch so it should be fine. These led bulb are super bright, so it might just be enough for my needs. Oh, my Naso is eating a like a champ now, so as long as my macro are growing, i should be good. Thanks again for dropping down the macro.

Here's a video of the refugium lighted.
