Return pump question

When the water level in my sump gets low, air bubbles mix in with the water and I get bubbly water from my return line. Normally, I add more water to do a top off and the air bubbles go away. Last night, I came home to bubbly water so I went to top off the tank but the bubbles didn't go away and the water level in the tank went up but the water level in my sump did not. Any ideas? Time for a new return pump? It is only ablut 8 months old. TIA.

You need to put a ball valve on the return side of you pump and turn the pump down a bit. It is pumping more water than your drain is draining down to the sump. Hope this helps...

I have had this pump for 8 months or so and never had this problem before. Why all of a sudden would the flow from the pump increase? Thx.

Or could the problem be something partially clogging the drain line?

That is what i was just going to say. I would check our overflows to make sure that there is no blockage.... but if there was theoretically the pump should empty the sump, if the drain is not working properly.

That's why I thought of a partial blockage. If it was completely blocked, eventually the sump would run dry.

Even if it was a PARTIAL blockage, then the pump will run dry. If the pump is pumping more than the drain is draining then you will have an empty sump and water running down the sides of your DT
