Reversed Bulkhead Installation?

Have anyone installed your bulkheads in reverse with the longer side inside the tank while the shorter side on the outside?

Any ill effects?

I don't see why you'd have any ill effects, what kind of application were you thinking of using it for though anything?

You should be fine as long as the seal\gasket is under the head flange.

how would you plan on tightening it with the nut inside the overflow?

no problems at all have many that way at the shop for clearence reasons..

It's fine the only thing I would watch out for is that the backing or paint is flat and won't prevent the gasket from being flush.

No problems, I have two 1.5" bulkheads installed on a 75g sump this way. Just remember where the gasket needs to be.

I am making my new fish room and found that many of the the older need to switch the locations fo the bulkheads. This requires removal of the older bulkheads and because the side out of the tanks have elbows, so I cannot reuse them. I am thinking, if the new ones I install I should make them recyclable.

Just get the screw in bulkheads, and get the 90 degree elbows that are threaded on one side.
