Running phosban reactor on a nano 6 gallon

I was thinking of using a phos reactor with carbon and phosremover. I think it would benifit my tank in reducing the deutrus that is contrantly building in the back of the nano.(HATE IT)
Can some 1 advise....

I wouldn't recommend a phos reactor to remove detritus. It'll clog, rendering the phosphate remover and carbon ineffective.

I finally got a yes out of ya. lol. What kinda carbon would u recomend that I use in the reactor.

Also is it ok to do a water change everyday on 6 gallon? about half a gallon, less. of course this is after a full top off...

i'd think daily water changes would be unnecessary. weekly would be fine. are you feeding heavily? what the heck are you keeping in this nano? a shark?

lol.the great white. I just squeezed what ever was not sold and it looks great.... how ever everytime I hear "I have a nano" I also hear "I overfeed". Now, I LOVE feeding my tanks... So over feeding wouldnt be a problem. thats y I ask about daily water changes.

and the answer is yes its ok to do a daily water change .... Partial water change..

You can do a daily water in change in any tank you have. However the % of water changed should be small compared to what you would normally change if you were on a weekly+ schedule. For instance in your 6g I wouldn't even do a 1/2 gallon a day. With a tank that small it is hard to really do such small changes and not screw something up in the long term health of the tank. I would do a change every few days maximum and still make it a small one. In a larger tank a daily change would be easier besides the work involved.

a phosban reactor seems like overkill for a 6g. The amount of media you would put in it for a 6g would probably barely cover the bottom of the reactor. You have to be careful not to overdo it w/ the GFO. With a tank that small GFO would probably do more harm than good.

If the nano has not been set-up yet, the addition of a phosban reactor would prevent the accumulation of phosphates from the start. In that case, it would not matter what quantity of phosphate removing media is used. Assuming a "grace period" before the addition of corals while the tank matures.

Conclusion:

Stupid idea to run the reactor in the first place. Just wanted to ask around if any1 tried.
Skimming the nano is whats prob. the most important thing.

Dean, my nano is full. Meaning the corals prob feel claustrophobic in there...
The set up is about 4 months.
