Yes coral RX is fine. When you dip it in a container use a baster to blow on the coral. Also when you have STN even if you don't suspect AEFW it is good practice that after you cut the dying part off you should still dip the coral as some dips help against bacteria infections ans STN and RTN

Jarret AEFW damage is obvious most of the time. From looking at you tank thread, the hot pink, orange, and faded blue colors are indicators of a low nutrient environment. I have gotten these colors in the past from not feeding fish, changing gfo too often, running too long of a photoperiod, and accidental temp spikes. If your corals are already stressed and STNing I would NOT dip them. You will most likely end up losing the coral. Back off on the gfo, increase feeding, and if you don't see a difference in a few weeks........ shorten photoperiod as well.

Also make sure you calibrate your refractometer and be sure your temp is accurate.

Coral rx is what I use but its kind of weak it takes 25min for a copods to die so for other bugs it might take longer .
Do u have ato on your tank ? Summer heat makes water to evaporate quicker thats how u get bigger salnity swings also everyone's refractometer is diff I would compare it with other people to make sure its right. Gfo was always the nr 1 suspect on my list when my tank was going tru the same thing
I always run the reactor return hose tru a thick filter sock . U be surprised how brown the sock will get from the gfo same go for carbon .

AEFW is not that obvious if you don't know how to look for it. The bite marks aren't visible if you acros skin has lightened up. Only way I saw the bite marks was by shutting all the lights off and looking at my tank with a flashlight. My corals also were very light in color which is what I thought I was doing was starving my corals. You can go back on my threads and see before I found the worms I was asking the same question. It is possible you starving your corals I'm not saying rule it out. As for the dip I would take at least one coral that's STNing and try dipping. I dipped many corals that were doing it and I only lost one but it was extremely week. It had no polyp extension and absolutely no color

i think i will do that then jackson. because i know i feed my tank to little. so i am going to start feeding every day and go from there all my other sps corals are perfectly fine so i am not in panic mode yet. i am just going to switch to every day feeding and give it 2 weeks if i see improvement great if i don't then i will start looking further into possible AEFW or something else. your guys input has been great i appreciate it a lot!

as for the milli goes though, a small part of it where it has encrusted the rock has died, if i leave it alone and conditions get better will it make a full recovery and eventually grow over the dead part. or should i snip it now while i have the chance.

as far as the vermiculata goes that has been slowly STNing since my torch coral fell on it. so i dont think that has anything to do with the current conditions or possible AEFW because prior to that accident that whole colony was fine.

I go through this every 2 years, spot on around spring into summer. My fish room is climate controlled, my parameters are always about the same and I know how to detect aefw and red bugs and have been in this hobby for some time now.
Just one of these things when keeping SPS with some folks including myself while others will have great long success.
Could never quite put a handle on the cause, somedays a full blown LPS and softy tank looks quite inviting :)

yea I don't think anything is wrong I'm my tank I just think a few corals are affected by eithier a temp swing or the lack or feeding. cause I do have sps that are still doing great have great color and growth I'm not really sweating this **** happens ill move on. as long as its not some pest I got to deal with then I'm good
