I need to get a tank cover for a small tank. The piece must be cut exactly
6.5" x 15.75". I neither have the tools or equipment to cut glass or acrylic. First off, do you recommend glass or some thick type of acrylic. Second, how should I go about getting the glass/acrylic and who or what places can cut it for me. Thx

I wouldn't cover the tank either. I tried it for about 2 weeks when I first had my set up and it did not like it at all. Salt deposits on the cover causes the light to nto penetrate as well and you will run into a heat issue. After I removed the covers I noticed an amazing improvement in clarity and the temp droped by 2 degrees. Now I know better. You can always try it and if you don't like it simply remove it. Easy fix!:splitspin

I wouldn't cover it either but, If you still want to cover it then go to a lowes home improvent store and they will custom cut either plexiglass/acrylic or glass. The glass is only 2mm thick though, if you want thicker you have to have them special order it.

The tank I'm getting the lid for is not up and running yet. I just want to have a lid readily available just in case I want to cover it for keeping a small goby or any other jumpers. Thanks for all your input. I will hit up HD.

i keep the glass cover on my tank - w/ PC lights and an iceprobe chiller heats not too much of an issue except in the dead of summer when my room naturally is over 80...
