tank temps

I run my AC all day evry day all summer long my tank today is at 80.3 with the MH & T5 on since 10am . my electric bill is around $150-$180 a month not to bad

Me too. I try to keep the AC on as much as possible. I'm somewhat lucky in that I can block off the living room and kitchen area so that the room AC unit only has to work in that part of the apartment.

Right now I'm setting up a new tank but will have a decent sized fan running over the sump along with smaller fans strategically placed in the canopy.

My Metal Halide will be about 14 inches off the surface of the water as well.

Great idea Ming. If you fill them with RODI then you would only have to worry about salinity issues if they cracked.

Chiller out of wak. I lost everything. It does not look good. I have 3 heaters on and the temp is slowly increasing. I am guessing it was like this over night.

wow 54 ! well guys i had to follow ming advice on keepin the lights off for at least a day or 2 , i have 6 1 liter water bottles filled up with rodi and in the freezer, im goin to place one in the ato bucket and one inside the sump.

I've actually never experienced a soda bottle to crack, but even if they do, it'll more likely crack in the freezing process in your freezer then in your tank. But even then, those soda bottles seem to withstand a lot.

My lights auto shut off at 82.5, so my tank never reached 83F so far.
The AC only goes on when I'm home and the lights automatically turn back on once below 82.5. Things seem fine for me, not super happy due to shorter light period, but fine

after posting on this thread earlier i got curious and checked temp of the kids tank and under the EVER VIGILENT eye of my girl friend the tank was................................. wait for it................................... 89.7
as you can guess i was super excited

wow very high. well last night i put rodi in 4 bottles of 1liter each in the freezer i put onebin thevsump and one in the ato bucket this mornin, and im keepin the lights off till friday, still regular feeding.
