What are frags?

Might be a stupid question but i just got into aquariums recently and i have no clue what frags are. It seems as though its a small piece of coral cut off of a bigger piece to be placed on a little disc to eventually grow bigger??? Sorry if i sound stupid :splitspin

Frags = fragments of larger corals.

yea i figured frag stood for fragment. im in that whole learning stage right now so ill have many more questions lol.
