What's the BEST liverock glue/puddy

I tried using coral superglue: no luck. Then tried the two part puddy and it takes an hour to be able to support any weight.

What's the best?

If you use Putty you may have better results. Epoxy Putty have limitations so watch the weight, you probably better off inserting rods...

I use super glue as a base.

thats the puddy I used, the instant ocean hold fast. alot of people said it worked great for them. Who has the time to sit there for 30-45 minutes holding up live rock to each other while puddy dries.

And super glue like product wasnt dense enough to hold the rocks together. I may have to try rods, than puddy.

If the rock is resting on other rocks you will be fine using the IC Gel or very good structural placement with no glue. If your going to make overhangs and rocks floating you need to put dowels through the rocks to support your structure. The putty and any other glue might not hold up.

We don't know what your planning on doing. It really depends on that.

You spend more time on the internet. As i stated, putty have it's limits. And we don't know exactly you're trying to create or build.

I use the instant ocean for mounting some frags and for rock fixtures. I found at first that it took a while to harden and stick like you said, but what I do is mead it together, let it sit for like 5 minutes then use it on the rocks and it speeds up the hardening time without getting too hard to use.

I don't know what I want my scape to look like yet, just looking for a better way to make over hangs and what not. Rods and glue it is

For frag plugs and such I use krazy glue GEL. Its thick enough that it gives u some bonding power. Just gotta be quick once u hit the water. Press and hold it for a second. As far as rock structures, maybe zip tie your rocks while waiting for the putty to dry?

I use both: the 2-part for the "main" structure, and the glue to make a "fast hold".

- mix the 2-part in a ball.
- put some glue (gel) and glue that to the base of the coral.
- put some glue on the other side (rock side)
- attach to rock. Be careful of glue "coming on the the sides" to not get your fingers glued in your tank.

Works really nicely even with hard to glue things, for instance small plates on "flat" structures.

When you use the putty you have to activate it by meading it. It should be 2 colors formed into the tube. You mush these two together to form one color and you know it's ready. You can also use a couple drops of water to harden it slightly then put it in the tank. I had great success using the putty. The two little fishes stuff works great also.
