I guess the old saying does in fact fit.

You can lead a horse to water.........

wingo in the future consider not ordering the blue linkia's they have about a 1% survival rate, if that, after collecting.
an alternative is the multiflora linkia a smaller and much more hardy species of the linkia family. the blue linkias should all be left on the reef IMHO.

K, How about the orange ones? I like the color but how about the survival rate of it?

Wingo,

Most of these seastars don't do well in aquariums, or at least I have read. The problem is that they deplete your microflora and then slowly starve, unless you have a large enough tank. There are folks of the opinion that we do not understand what these some of these guys eat and cannot even reliably feed them yet.

My orange is all over the rockwork and the glass. No sand sifting involved.

How much is the electric flame scallop? Will this be a problem with other tank mates as it generates electricity. Also how much would it be for a pair of clowns?

flame scallops will not live long in our tanks, they should be avoided as well.

Wingo as for the linkias I believe the only one that stands a chance are the multifloras, the orange, red, and blue ones all don't do well, they eat specific micro-organisms and algae off the rocks, if your rock does not have the specific ones they eat the starfish will die, slowly.
once in a while you do hear of someone who has kept one alive, that's the luck of getting one that survives collecting and shipping, then having enough rock with the right life on it to support the linkia, that's a long shot.
for the linkias sake leave them on the reefs.
there are plenty of inverts to give the tank color, besides half the time the linkias are under rocks and you never see them.

Save the Linkia's :starfish: :starfish: :starfish: :starfish:

the seahorse looks like a Hippocampus kuda (Yellow variant).

Actually, they look like Kelloggi. Kuda would be overall broader, would have a more prominent dorsal fin, and wouldn't be as sleek. Also note that the snout is not particularly long, where a Kuda's would be longer.

With respect to color, all seahorses have brighter color when they have just been removed from the sea or are given the proper diet, (if anyone finds out what this REALLY is, please let me know -- my reidi, erectus, kelloggi, and barbouri would appreciate it). All seahorses are capable of changing color, especially when mating.

Just my 2 cents.

Bob
