This Hippo Tang is absolutely fantastic. I normally hesitate to make such strong comments about a fish. Especially a WC Hippo Tang. They are obviously prone to a number of maladies.
This guy has been in my care for almost two weeks now. I've kept him segregated in my fuge since day one (a modified QT). I didn't want to have to worry about getting him out of my display. He's been eating since the very first day. However, his behaviour has changed.
At first he was very skittish and shy. When I fed him, he would slowly come out of hiding and pick a piece of food and scurry back to hide. Well for the past week he not only eats without any trepidation, but he now comes to the surface when he sees me approach the tank.
If I keep him any longer my wife is going to tell me to keep him (she did already actually). I can't keep two hippo's in a 75. One is really not right either.
This guy is approx. 3.5" and he's extremely healthy. The price for this beauty is $55. As long as he's going to a healthy environment I have no doubt he'll make you proud.
