You would be better served getting a few scoops of live sand from someones tank than from the water. The majority of the beneficial bacteria is in the sand.
soso to help my cycle go a lil fasterEstablished rock, sand , and water if you want a fully cycled tank instantly.
Is that what you're trying to do ?
ok cool tyYeah, make your own water and get a couple cups of sand or a cured live rock from someones established tank. Either one would work well.
That's is not going to go so well, as it will shock all life living within the live rock/sand killing most of it and starting a cycle of its own. ALL OF THEM HAVE TO BE FULLY CYCLED IF YOU DON'T WANT TO START ANOTHER ONE!!!Yeah, make your own water

Why would you say that? Mix up the new salt water at least 24 hours ahead of time and it will be just fine. Why would it kill off all life in the sand and rocks? That just doesn't make any sense to me.
