You would be better served getting a few scoops of live sand from someones tank than from the water. The majority of the beneficial bacteria is in the sand.
ok ty i am doing dry rock so do my on water with the dry rock and get established live sand???

Yeah, make your own water and get a couple cups of sand or a cured live rock from someones established tank. Either one would work well.

That's is not going to go so well, as it will shock all life living within the live rock/sand killing most of it and starting a cycle of its own. ALL OF THEM HAVE TO BE FULLY CYCLED IF YOU DON'T WANT TO START ANOTHER ONE!!!

Why would you say that? Mix up the new salt water at least 24 hours ahead of time and it will be just fine. Why would it kill off all life in the sand and rocks? That just doesn't make any sense to me.

Aged water will help alot. Best best is to get aged water aged rock and start ur own sandbed add a cup of some1s establised sand
