Hi there,
I'm back to work after taking a leave of absence to finish my degree program.
The tank at the H.S. is still up and I am slowly going to begin to restock it.

Unfortunately, the lights I had on the tank finally gave out last week. Apparently it was smoking and had to be tossed (says the security guards and custodians).

So, I need to get a new light asap.
Must be able to sit atop a 55g tank (48" long)

I'd like a light that is good enough for a FOWLR. The tank is 48" long.
I do not think I'll add coral to the tanks again. Too many problems over the past few years of folks disrespecting the rules for the light fixtures.
If anything I would add a few soft corals that would be reasonably safe from the fish.

We only have a clown fish, live rock, and bob 1000's reef grass (grows nicely) so we're pretty flexible right now.

I just put in a good sized order from reefcleaners.com (love those guys) to handle the increased bioload once I figure out the type of fish to get.

I prefer to pick up in NJ, as I am rarely in NYC or have time to visit.

You can put anything over a fowlr you only need intense light for corals, I'd just buy a regular aquarium light from any pet store. Don't spend a fortune on a light just to make the tank look pretty.
