Container for auto top off

What kind of containers do you guys use for your ato.. I want to get a 20 gallon FDA approved container white but don't no where I could buy one..

Gray Rubbermaid Brutes are available at any hardware store in various sizes. They are supposedly food-grade.

Chem-tainer.com..which is also located in babylon sells decent size tanks, but if your going for 20 gallons get a brute trash can. I use for salt and ro water...i have 2 of them

Are brute trash cans FDA approved.

The white, gray, are food grade so you can use those. I ordered my white 20 gallon brute from uline.com

Home Depot sells a 20 gallon for 19.99 I use one from my ATO and fill it about half way which gives me about a week. Never had a problem with it.

Its the Grey Brute 20 gallon garbage can I washed the oils out with Bleach\water mixture 3-1 and use 20 gallon for my ATO and a 44gallon that feeds from my RO\DI system which I can use for either salt mix or fresh. I fill the 20 gallon with about 10 gallons a week I have a Tunze ATO that brings it to the main tank. the only thing I add to my make water is buffer. my 44gallon is on wheels and I just roll it over pump over 10 gallons, my 20 is marked for 10 gallons and just roll it back to where I keep it and quick connect it back to my RO\DI system. Nver had any isses. My tank is a Ocanic 120 Tech tank mixed reef.

And that 10 gallons of water you make lasts how long? A week.

Also what kind of buffer do you addd? For ph and alk

The 10 gallon lasts about a 5-6 days or so and I only add PH buffer. I use a 2 part to does Alk and Calc by hand but I will eventually look to get some type of either DYI or 2 pump doser to automate. best purchase for my tank was the Tunze ATO hands down.

How much was the tunze ato ... Do you have a tank thread?

I should have a tank thread but I just never started one and at this point its kinda done so I missed the oppertunity. Next build once someone sells me a Marineland 200 DD with montarey stand. LOL

Im currenty putting a 57 Gallon system together and this will be my RO/DI bucket water set up. I have small two bedroom apartment that I live in with wife and kids and do not have much room for anything.

1 10 gallon brute trash cans for RO/DI water.
1 10 gallon brute trash can for mixing salt when I do my water changes.
1 5 gallon clear plastic water carrier for ATO. This will be placed next to my sump inside the stand. I will most likely be filling my 5 gallon water container every two or three days.
