Don't worry Mark, I've done my research. My light will use spectrum from about 420 to 600nm, no reds.

Clue me in on the problems with the reds, I have 2 reds and 2 greens on a 26 piece setup and think they look okay

As far as I read and research, red spectrum, while absorbed by certain pigments in zooxanthellae algae as seen in this article http://jeb.biologists.org/content/206/22/4041.full has rather minimal to none influence compare to other pigments reacting on light of lower wavelenghts. True is, red light can be absorbed only by corals growing in the shallow parts of the reef, at depths >30ft red wavelenghts are almost completely gone

Warren long time man!

I don't have any experience with red or green LEDs cause I'm using cannon pendants and basically have no possibilities to install them but since few companies start selling fixtures with multi-colored led (especially red) have heart from couple folks that red color can really make some negative changes in the aquarium. I'll stay away from red 5w LEDs...
But I gonna stay in touch with Marcin and see how they gonna work for him

I have 2 reds. A deep red and a regular red. Noticed more bubble algae.

Not sure if it's directly related but. Never had bubble algae before. Until these.
Still debating in taking them out.

The greens on the the other hand seem to bring out color. I have a green and a turquoise. These guys I like.
