Looking to get Cast Acrylic

I am building a frag tank for myself and sump for my cousin. I previously bought some acrylic from this store in Brooklyn. I would like to find a better place with better prices. The store I went to, didnt use a table saw and the acrylic was not cut to the right dimensions.

Primarily, I am looking for a place in NY metro area that do really clean cuts. If you know of any please let me know. Thanks

that stuff skyrocketed in pricing.

It's not cheap now a days. I priced it out and its cheaper to buy what you need from a store or bulk buyer.

There are a couple of sellers on here that will custom make anything for you. You can also find stores online that will cut everything to your measurements and ship it to you for assembly, plastic shops not reef shops.

Either way, its no longer cost effective to make tanks or sumps ourselves, at least not out of acrylic, need the discount that comes with bulk buying.

Damn guys, where were you before, :lol: I already ordered a sheet 4x8 for $129+tax (needed to set up an account with them but that was free.

I found that price to be really good, enough to make myself a frag tank and a sump for my cousin who's setting up a tank

for your sake I hope you purchased a reliable thickness.

some sump manufacturers are using thin acrylic and have read horror stories, slight microscopic shift and sumps have cracked and turned living rooms into swimming pools.

Living rooms in do swing pools, lol. I went with 1/4 acrylic. It's more than sufficient for what I'm building.

Final question, at that price, do they cut free of charge or charged you per cut?

They charged me like $1.20per piece or something like that

What dimensions did you make it?

Will you be putting padding underneath it?

Thanks, its 32x12x15 (while having the water level in the sump only 9.5-10"). Am not sure about the purpose of the padding. I do however, have that rubbery roll that you use to put underneath rugs so the wont slide.
