Teflon Tape

Went to local home depot but couldn't find any. Just wondering if anyone has some or know where I can get some ASAP.

Really? HD didnt have any teflon tape? They usually have boxes in there. Any hardware store should have it and if you need it desperately wait till tomorrow and for the night try wrapping the threads with some white thread just for the night though it will slow down the leak and even stop it for a few hours

I'll be honest, I asked a worker but didn't look for myself...I found it funny as well that they wouldn't have any.

They definetly have it usually a box of it near the plumbing section somewhere ,rolls are like a dollar

Thanks for the offer. I went to HD and sure enough they had tons of it. Should have looked myself but I trusted the word of a worker assuming they knew their store.

Issue I'm having now is I taped both threads that had slight leaks but now I'm getting a huge leak from one of the threads (one on top of the pump (mag 7) ) not sure what to make of it, guess I'll remove the bushing and retape it. Is it possible to tape it wrong and cause more of a leak?

You might have cracked the plastic. You may have over tightened or used to much tape

I mean let's be honest, if u walked into a store and asked for something and a person working in the store said no we don't have any right now what reason would I have to question him?

Just got back home, gonna check the bushing and adaptor for cracks bought xtra in case. Will keep u guys posted.

I was looking for shims once and got the same answer. I dont ask questions at HD anymore.

Now i was at lowes and looking for one of those handheld sprayer that slip over the faucet in the tub. I was having a very hard time describing it at the time. The girl I was talking to took my down some obscure aisle in the plumbing department and handed me one.

So lets see teflon, hose barbs and shims are all things HD employees do not know exist or that they sell them...remember those commercials how they hired all industry professionals?

Check your bushing for a crack and you dont need to overload with teflon tape either. Also dont tighten it down so much. Snug should be fine..

This morning when I went to get the tape I figured I would get a fitting/adapter for my sink so I could use my ro unit without having to jump through all the hoops I currently have to and sure enough some one told me AGAIN we don't have the one u need and since I honestly don't know which one exactly I need I just had to walk away. Tomorrow I'll go back with my whole sink if I can and find someone to help me....lol
