Gfo any brand, vendors apply

Hey, I am going to go back to using GFO and want to buy in bulk to save money and time.

Are there any vendors that have any brand/no name gfo 4+ lb buckets for a good price? If your black friday weekend and cyber Monday deals extend to gfo let me know!

Or if you would do a group buy with some kind of bigger discount on this?

Keep in mind this thread is not a group buy thread! It is just a question to vendors and or people with connections. If anything comes of it I will inform the mods as per usual GB rule.



(Also, no, I'm not really interested in a brs purchase because I already have the preferred member thing and that "perk" does not apply to everything they sell and isn't substantial at all and you still have to pay shipping up to 175 per order anyway)

Check out ebay there's a guy on there sells it by the pound think 6 lbs is 60$ + shipping 12lbs 120$ etc I used it and then tried a brs to see if there's was a difference and there was non I could see

check ebay, you can get enough GFO to last 3 years for pennies on the dollar when compated to others.


I purchased two USPS medium sized boxes and ended up giving away zip lock bags to folks that over time came over because it ended up being way more than the tank could ever consume.

4 to 5lbs of gfo is good right?
I have total volume of 100 to 120g and will eventually have 15 fish, and will feed pellets 2x a day and frozen 1 to 2x per day 4 days a week.

I'm not sure what my consumption levels would be but I'm definitely aiming for higher consistency in changing the gfo and keeping water quality stable .05 and lower phosphate, 10ppm nitrate.

I should go test now since sleep isn't coming easy!

I know you said you dnt want from BRS because of shipping but $55 for 4lb is really not that great IMO

Hey MrCrab, I know 55 $ for 4lb compared to brs sale isn't the deepest deal. However, shipping costs on top of that 52 makes brs a no go period. Since I dont need anything else from them

Whereas GA actually will deliver it to my house or I can pick it up from him in Manhattan.

I will end up buying this specific item from ebay because the price is great (4lbs 40!) and shipping is free. Also, I really wanted larger bulk size since I want gfo for days, and will split it up with ky friends so 4lbs isnt enough!

But I like buying from GA and will find another way to contribute to his local business.
