Hey everyone. Im looking for a green mandarin to add to my nano tank. Please let me know if anyone is selling or know of a good place to pick on up. Thanks

I have one in my 75G but I also have a refugium where I cultivate pods. Even if it's an established tank, a nano wouldn't have the copepod population to keep up with a mandarins demands and it would eventually starve to death. If you really want to get one for a nano, you should get one that's eating frozen foods but it'll be much more expensive

Regardless of the fish size, it will inevitably eat all the pods in a nano tank. There's not enough surface area for them to multiply enough to keep up with the mandarin. Keep in mind that some of your other fish may be eating the pods as well. You can continue to add a bottle of copepods/tigger pods to your tank every couple weeks but that'd be more expensive than just buying one that eats frozen food already. I think a bottle of pods is like $20 or something

Mandarins spend all day picking pods in the rocks and sand. I forgot how many pods they're estimated to eat in a day, but it was a crazy amount. Don't underestimate their feeding needs. It's one of the most beautiful fish in the game which is why so many people end up learning that lesson the hard way

Thanks for the feedback. This is my 1st nano. Been doing african cichlids for a longtime. Wanted to make the jump into a saltwater tank.
