Maxijet 900 with magnet

The sure grip is 25.00 everywhere but can't I use a algae magnet and get the same effect?Looking for a good deal on this with the suregrip or without.I don't drive so local or in the city.Thanks.

u can use some glue n magnet n make it yourself. but make sure the magnet is strong enough to hold or you'll find a tank with a sand storm.
i use neo magnets. algea magnets usually r too weak.

Algae magnet as in a 'mag float' just won't cut it. With all that we invest in our tanks, a little peace of mind goes a long way. Saving $7-$10 doesn't sound worth the risk.

BTW the neodynium magnets are expensive too.
