Never worked for me. I tried it once - cost me a bundle - and within a week I never saw them again, but the aiptasia was still there.
My new method of reducing the aiptasia is:
1. water changes - helps reduce the nitrates. I have a 75 gallon tank, so I do 10 gallons every 2 weeks.
2. feeding the coral with the pumps off - after feeding the coral I also kill all aiptasia with kalkwasser using a syringe with needle.
Using this method I now have very few aiptasia and boy am I happy!
Try Peppermint shrimps, I add three to my 75G and in a week they at all the aptasia. Keep in mind they may also eat your zoas, but mines didn't touch it.
I just feed them flakes to keep them well fed.
