Need a good skimmer!!!

I am in a slow process of upgrading to a 40 breeder. I am not drilling the tank (i find no point in that) I just need a good hang on the back skimmer that will work good. Can anyone recommend one to me? Thank you

I dont think you can go wrong with a remora....

I have one remora pro for sale (used for 3 months) - works great. just upgraded my tank with a sump, so I don't need the hang on anymore.

Ditto on the remora suggestion. I use a remora with a mj1200 on a 29gal as sole filtration. You might consider the remora pro if you are going to upgrade later or if you plan on having a lot of fish.

I use an Aquamedic TurboFlotor 1000 Multi but that might be an overkill for your $40G. Why don't you drill the tank and set up a small fuge. Heck, why don't you pickup my 135G Reef Ready with stand. $450 for a fellow polak.

No need to drill. Just need a good skimmer and a fluval to run my carbon and i am all set thanks everyone i guess ill go with the remora pro.

I agree with the Remora Pro recommendation. I have had the Urchin Pro on my 100+ gallon since the start, and it has done a great job pulling some nasty stuff out. Maintenace is minimal, pretty much plug and play. The general consensus is that the skimmer is too small for my tank, but honestly, it does the job well. Levels and algae have been in check, what else do you need. Ebay has some good deals on new and used, and from time to time they pop up on here, from what I've seen usually ranging anywhere between $90-$110 depending on pump.

Keep in mind with a remora pro you'll have a mag 3 hanging in your tank.

I vote for the Deltec hang ons. A little pricey but a good design for hang on skimmers.

you could always use a rio 1400, have never had an issue with any of my rio pumps, which also seems to be contrary to other peoples experiences with the brand.
