WTB: Metal Frame stand

Ok i am in luck i found a great deal on a 300gal tank but i would like to make a stand for this tank and would rather it be metal with a facade front. I have no idea where i can purchase one or get one made around this area or even how can i create one any information is helpful the tank is

I have never seen a metal stand for a 300. Some of the other members would know. I personally would build mine out of pine. A lot of wood though. You can also try petland discounts. you can special order items from them, but I am not sure if they are in CT.

you will have to have it custom made all the regular aquarium companies dont make stands for an eight foot long tank

Building one aaint so bad. Like I said a lot of wood.

Yea I am unsure about wood with that amount of weight plus I am no good in building a good looking stand

I understand your concern. But if you go into some LFS locations, you will probably see things like two 75 gallon tanks bunking on one pine wood frame. In fact one of our vendors is showing us his new display tank, its huge maybe 300 gallons but its on a pine frame that is really really simple. check it out its the top pic.

You need a welder to make you a tubular frame then powdercoat it. That is how most custom metal frames are made.

Check with Randy (Prattreef), I believe he had a former student that built his stand.
