If you are looking to seed a sand bed see if a member here can give you a cup of their sand to seed your new sand bed. If you are looking to reuse someones entire sand bed then that is not a good idea. You would have top thoroughly clean that sand in RO water to get all of the "bad stuff" out of it hence rendering it dead. I have always had great luck in my shallow sand bed using natures ocean live sand. You might want to try a bag of that instead.
