what do you think the best skimmer is for a 110gallon system mixed reef dominated sps around $200-350?? Also, it needs to be very quiet because the tank is in my room and its hard to sleep at night
Right now i have the Octopus Skimmer nw-200
Also, the skimmer can't be higher than 24inches

vertex in 180, it's 24" tall but only need a 1\4 to remove collection cup and it's silent

Im think old because i bought it used when i got my tank so now i'ev been upgrading all my equipment..its very crappy and always leeks and it doesn't even look nice lol

this is just my opinion. i've never owned a skimmer that cost over $300 , well some of the er's if bought new. and i've had alot of skimmer's. also never a tank over 80g twv. but mine is way overkill on my tank. this is 24 hr's after cleaning cup,

on mine probably 7 days, i run to the dry side,the neck becomes thickly coated and i dont have a bio load for this skimmer

and i know it is quiet from reading it..but give me your honest opinion.... Do you barely hear it? Because with mine now its so hard to fall asleep! Here's a pic of it (Im pretty sure thats with two weeks of skimming)

I have an ASM G3 and it works perfect. I have it on a 150 gallon DT and 40 gallon sump.
