I hope you will make a good decision on either buying a decent used car or buying a pair of these rare dudes. A pair is about $6000 if you could find them. They get to be about 18 inches also.

These fish are cool and only $270

Orthosternarchus tamandua
The Pink or Rosed Dolphin seems to use a sonar-like method to find its food, spits out streams of water and most impressive of all, sometimes "stands" with more than half its body length above the water much like ocean dolphins can do.

Recently being called the White Knife or Peruvian Pink Knife, this dolphin fish is constantly active and gives the impression of having a playful personality. At more than 10 inches in size and beautiful albino appearance, they are true wonders. We have grown specimens to up to 15 inches in size! They love a variety of live foods, and may be blind as well.

This White Knife uses electrical signals for locating food and objects. It is a good idea to add a grounding led to your tank as to not confuse them. Until very recently, this species was not classified and it continues to be extremely rare in the hobby. Found in the depths of the Amazon, it lives in depths over 30 meters in the murky waters of the Amazon system. There it eats small crustaceans and worms. Incredibly, it seems to adapt perfectly well to aquarium conditions (with decent husbandry of course), and happily takes all sorts of foods (especially loves live foods!).

Yea I was going to say they'd prob cost around 5 grand or better if you could even find them..I figured they are extremely rare since I had never even heard of them until I went to the boston Aquarium last weekend and they had a big tank with a bunch of them in there.

P.S. Those pink knifes are WACK who would waste 270 on that? It looks like a worm. You'd be better off taking that 270 and spending it on scratch offs than buying that stupid fish

rosed dolphin

did you even read what I wrote about the rosed dolphin fish? The interesting thing about them is that they protrude their body 5" out of the water giving them the appearance of a dolphin. I think that is pretty neat.
