Hello. I made the stupid mistake of purchasing a 275 watt PC fixture thinking it was a T5 fixture. Even worse, I have been using the fixture since December 23 under this impression. I need to purchase a halide of t5 fixture ASAP. My tank has clams, and all types of coral in it. Perhaps, this is why I have noticed EXTREMELY slow growth. Thanks. Also, if anyone is interested in some sort of trade I have a 48 inch coralife deluxe fixture. I can pay cash, trade for my light, or trade coral. Thanks.

I've grown sps, lps, clams and softies under PC's. You should look into feeding your corals. That's what makes them grow. There's nothing that states how fast a coral should grow; coral growth depends on many factors.

MH is probably better for SPS or clams, PC are strong enough, but remember to change the bulbs frequent, if your tank dosn't have too much depth, T5 will do.

T-5 works fine for clams.even sps.you saw my clam on top of the rock.its a maxima.had it over a year.it was 2 in when i bought it it is now over 5 in.under 39w t-5.my sps was growing great as well till the cyano took them over.MH is a electric sucker.people like the shimmer of the water.i had MH in my 120 and the only difference i noticed was my electric bill.put a stip of led with the t-5 and BOOM you have shimmer.
