live sand | dead sand?

I have a 5G bucket of dead sand. was once live. I tried rinsing it, but it still is stinky. The only thing is that I live in Rockland County. My Fiance is from Valley Stream LI, but I am not sure when we are going to visit her mother again. PM if you're interested, and We'll figure something out.

what's it for Will? I have a whole bunch of sand, but it's in a container that was used as a treatment tank (and thus had copper in it).. so it wouldn't be good for reef, but fish only it'd be fine.
