alot of other solid skimmers out there for way less money, the vertex in180 would work well, the vertex alpha 170 cone, octo xp2000, skimz sm202 recirc or the kone201 and list continue's. as having been a ex BK owner i was not impressed with skimmer for the $, it was a solid skimmer but have had better performance for alot less money, how heavy stocked is the tank > corals also ? btw bk also makes the vertex line

i have owned the vertex in180 twice and absolutely loved it, was just too much skimmer for my system, friend is running one on his 180g and few other on here running them on 120g plus tanks, also owned the in100, and 22 or so other skimmers, if it is fish only tank id go with the vertex, easy to dial, pulls 840 lpm of air i do believe and a solid skimmer and not bad priced new either

one is labeled BK and one is labeled alpha\vertex, tell me the differance other then price. pending which Bk you went with and pending which vertex you went with. kinda a open question which will work better, it depends on which model, also what depth of water will the skimmer sit in ? some have deeper requirements as where others run best in 6" also how much space, height width and lenght do you have for a skimmer to fit in. and this side i will say, my vertex in180 worked better then my bk mini 160, and my skimz works better then both
