Like the title says, I think that the fish database could become much more effective to the masses on MR with a few simple improvements. Please feel free to chime in, the more opinions the better.
In the fish database there are photos with this information:
Difficulty:
Reef Safe:
Aggressive:
Member rating:
The categories would be more helpful on this page if they were:
Reef Safe:
Difficulty:
Size:
Behavior:
Diet:
The way the groups are divided in the bar on the left is by type of fish, which is great, however I think that there could be more ways to categorize. The groups could also be divided into the same categories as above. This way you could more easily find a group of fish that would fit in your specific tank. This could all be achieved by having multiple drop-down menus.
I also think that the icons next to the fish names are a bit hard to read and could be simplified to just text.
I am excited to see this improve, as it is an extremely valuable source of information.
